Wow! Humbled and super stoked. This week I featured across two pages in the Belfast Telegraph 's glossy lifestyle magazine. I can't believe the support I have had from the local community who tune in every day to watch me take photos and talk rubbish to my phone.
on top of that I can't believe the word "Nibbling" was actually printed in a headline next to my face. Incredible.
A couple of weeks ago I met up with Dan Williams, who writes music, media and lifestyle features in the Belfast Telegraphs glossy magazine insert for their main paper. He contacted me and we arranged a beer and an interview. I knew Dan through social media so it was great to meet him in person, turns out there are a lot of similarities between the two of us. The interview was chilled and laid back, he talked to me about my Instagram channel, how I do it, what motivates me and the responses I get from it. We delved a little deeper into my photography, my Youtube channel and recent vlog series.
Generally we just chilled and chatted over a couple of beers, and this magazine article is the end product. Dan's article is great and I am so chuffed to have been asked and featured in Northern irelands main Newspaper. I can't believe the support I have received to date.
It's really odd, I put myself out there on my various social media channels, using Instagram stories as my main daily vlog and utilising youtube for more lengthier feature vlogs and short films. I post daily to my two personal Instagram accounts as well as running a beer page with my brother called "Late Brewing" and helping out with the Power Of Video social media channels too.
I love creating content, I love expressing my thoughts and i love having the platforms to share and talk to people . But what's more incredible is that other people enjoy it too and that really helps motivate me to keep creating.
My normal rule of thumb is as long as I enjoy it, and my wife enjoys it...then its true to me and thats the most important thing. So its really great when people respond directly to photos or videos that i create and I get so many cool messages from loads of great people on a daily basis, quite a few of whom I have actually met up with for coffee or a beer and become friends with. For example Jess Lowe who took these awesome photos so that I didn't have to submit a selfie haha. I am so excited to see where this goes, who I meet and what I get the opportunity to create.
Social media is a powerful tool to connect with people, you just need to understand how to use it in a way that suits you and remember to have fun and stay true to yourself.
